Please Consider Assisting the Hackett Family

Christ Reformed Church, on behalf of Justin Hackett and family, requests that you prayerfully consider helping the Hackett family in a time of need.

Justin Hackett, a member of Christ Reformed Church of Casper, suffered a debilitating and life-altering rodeo accident when he was 18, after a saddle-bronc horse rolled over him, crushing his spine. He suffers daily with the long-reaching effects of his accident and the two pounds of metal in his back.

When Justin and Cheryl were first married, Justin was on disability, but was also working full-time. His case worker told him that he was earning too much income and had to choose between staying on disability (and quitting work) or going off disability (and continuing to work). He chose to go off disability and work. They told him that he is the only person they knew who had ever done that. He has continued to work and support his wife and five children for the last fifteen years or so.

Unfortunately, within the last year, Justin discovered that drinking alcohol helped to significantly lessen the merciless pain he daily endures. This has become a real problem in his life, and in the Hackett family. He realizes he needs to get some help and is attending a Christ-based treatment facility for men called Rob’s Ranch in Purcell, Oklahoma.

Treatment centers of course are not cheap. As Justin will obviously not be working during his treatment, Cheryl has secured part-time employment to help cover the family’s monthly expenses. Christ Reformed is also already helping as we are able.

We humbly ask that, if you are willing and able, would you please consider helping the Hackett family in their time of need? We all would be eternally grateful, and I believe our mighty and merciful God will bless you abundantly for your generosity.

Whether or not you are able to help finanically, we ask for your prayers for Justin and the Hackett family during this difficult time. We have great hope that “for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

We know that ultimately, His purpose is that we are conformed more and more each day to the image of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered that we may be free from our sins and abide with Him forever.
